Bullcrap!!! The buggiest title i've EVER played gets GOTY? Bullcrap!!! No game with that many bugs and glitches deserves praise....i'm sorry but if car manufacturers made cars which just froze up on ya then heads would roll! YEa yea I know completely different things but....you wanna do something do it properly....don't do a half assed job and expect praise! Bugs/glitches = half assed!! Spike TV don't know crap it seems! Zelda, Gears of War, hell even Yoshi's Island DS.....anything but a game plagued with glitches....ESPECIALLY the glitchiest game i've EVER played! Come onnn!!

Thats Spike TV for ya.
the only good think about spike is that they have TNA impact!
yeah, i wouldn't have said it was GOTY material either. it's good, but not great.

that said, i don't know what i would've said was GOTY.

Meh, no one ehre could all agree on one single goty.

Oblivion is a safe choice that appeals to the masses. Most people won't agree here but we never can anyways. At least most here will agree it is a 'good' game.

GeArS ov WAr!11!!1!11!!1!!!1111!

Get used to buggy games Ugh it's going to happen a LOT now (patches are readily available after all).

Not deserving of game of the year - it wasn't even an exciting game for me. At times, it was a bit of a chore, with the glitches and loading and whatnot..
Yea i'm used to them now(damn 360) but Oblivion....yikes....every hour or 2 hours GUARANTEED!!! Like if I jumped too much....glitch out and crash! Ride the horse too long too fast....glitch out baby yea!!! Make the machine load one thing and then quickly load another 50/50 chance it would crash. Weird things happening. Like I one time I load up the game and I can fly.....Weeeeeeee....I could do it for as long as I wanted and when i turned it off....never saw the feature again....thought it was some secret I unlocked... icon_rolleyes.gif

I'd take a stab at Zelda (lived up to the hype) even....or Gears of War (again lived up to the massive hype).

^well i played the pc version and encountered only a handful of minor glitches-no bsod's or crashes back to the desktop.

I have to fully agree with Ugh on this one. Whether or not you liked Oblivion ( I didn't ) giving the title of game of the year to a really buggy game is just wrong. As far as the car analogy goes, I have a friend from Canada who has been in Aust for the last couple of years and was wondering why no one wanted to buy his Magna when it was time to leave. He said that Magnas won car of the year several times in Aus but no one seems to want them. I had to explain that they win car of the year while they are new but within a couple of years they seem to fall apart.

I hear ya, the ONLY wrestling show worth watching these days

Oblivion wasn't that good, true it was the best 360 game out but I think that speaks more for the other games on the 360

Gears of War in my view has not lived up to the hype. But then again Microsoft like to hype everything "its good because its us" type analogy. Its not a bad game but nothing great, deserves a mention but not as much as it did

Twilight Princess definatly deserved that award and Red Steel deserves a mention somewhere. Project 8 was a well deserved mention, NFS Carbon is a better racer than Burnout Revenge.

^ What, so you're not supposed to hype your games?

'This is Oblivion, the latest release on Xbox 360. It's very glitchy and will make your console crash, but we need the revenue, so buy buy buy!!'

Red Steel game of the year? Serious? I know alot like it, but alot don't. No chance of getting even a mention.

NFS Carbon better than Burnout Revenge? I'll hold my opinions on that, as I havn't played NFS Carbon yet.

Sorry, i meant over-hype, and I was talking about Gears of War not Oblivion, they were going on saying its the greatest game of all time when its not even close.

Again it's a good game game, just far off greatness

Obviously you've played Gears yes?

Maybe it's your own fault for getting caught up in the hype machine. I got caught up, and all my expectations were exceeded, and I love Gears.

Have you played through the single player campaign? Have you played through it in co-op? Have you played a online match in Warzone or Execution?

And whos saying its the best game ever? It's obviously deserving of game of the year and I think between Gears and Zelda it's going to be interesting.

Better than some Oblivion crap.

I take Microsoft hype with a grain of salt so I never got caught up in it. and it was some Xbox head honcho (prob peter moore) that said best game ever or something like that.

Gears is nice enough but Zelda is better

You didn't even answer any of the questions, which makes everything you say totally irrelavant.

Oh, so Microsoft head boss claims that their killer-app, system seller game is the best game of all time, so that totally writes the game off for you?

Just ignore him Jim Dash, he's like the new Chriharr (although he's able to type in English).

Oh, I know. The way people perceive things really frustrates me sometimes!

Best Performance by a Human - Female: Vida Guerra in Scarface: The World is Yours

Does this mean I actually need to go back and finish this game?

Damn it.

If RE4 is good enough (which it is), it should be able to win twice. Anyway, my game of the year is no doubt Zelda.
Yeah I had the 360 version. Can't say i enjoyed (I just traded it in for Shadow of Colossus) the game but Bethesda games have never impressed me too much.

Shame really I paid $87 for it and got $23 for the trade. Played 6 or 7 hours.

Good friend of mine played 70+ hours so it must appeal to some people.

GOTY I doubt it must be better out there.

Actually guys this was fully voted for on their site.. heck I even voted, purely to see Yellowcard (the C isn't a capital) take a Gold Monkey. icon_razz.gif

I can't really remember what else I voted for, but wasn't Oblivion, and Burnout is way better than NFS.

And praise to Spike, they bring us MXC and put TNA on Primtime.
