Blue Dragon scores high in Famitsu

360 News | Renewed hope for Microsoft in Japan?
Microsoft has long struggled to sell the Xbox 360 to Japan, yet that situation could be about to change. Fresh optimism for the console in what is traditionally Sony and Nintendo territory comes in the form of Xbox 360 RPG Blue Dragon, which has just scored some rather ace marks in Japanese gaming rag Famitsu. Awarding the game scores of 9, 9, 9 and 10, the magazine's panel of editors were clearly impressed by the title designed to lure Japanese gamers to the Microsoft machine.

Indeed, the scores are high by Famitsu standards, and pre-orders for the special edition Blue Dragon 360 bundle have reportedly already sold out. Whether or not this will have a lasting positive effect on Microsoft's Japanese performance is more debatable, but we'll know soon enough - the game launches in the Land of the Rising Sun on December 7. A PAL release date has yet to be fully confirmed.

It's a variant of Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest, of course they'll eat it up. Did Blue Dragon score higher than FF12?

Apparently 360 sales are up from 1-2k a week (or is that month) to 4-6k so at least things have picked up slightly for them there.

How about Microsoft get Virtua Fighter 5 ported to the xbox? That would be awesome.
