Double Dragon set for Marketplace debut
360 News | Retro scrolling scrapper coming soon. With Live co-op! Yay!
Double Dragon, the classic arcade scrolling fighter first distributed by Taito in 1987, is due to hit the Xbox Live Marketplace in the imminent future. Precisely when it will be appearing or how much it'll cost is still unknown (today can be ruled out, as there's an update for Texas Hold 'em due), but apparently it's set to feature updated graphics and co-operative play over Xbox Live, and will weigh in at just 12.56MB.
For those unfamiliar with the title - all two of you - Double Dragon sees players filling the pixelated boots of the Lee brothers as they kick, punch, elbow and baseball bat their way through four stages of beating up members of the Black Warriors, who've nabbed your lady-friend. The game was a considerable hit on its release almost two decades ago, featuring a wide range of moves (for the time, obviously) and the nifty ability to pick up weapons dropped by other characters. Oh, and the co-op fairly rocked.
Stay tuned for a release date and the cost.
