Superman Returns demo released

360 News | Gold only for the time being.
The demo for EA's latest movie tie-in Superman Returns is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo is currently only available for Gold users; Silver users will need to wait until the 22nd of November to try the demo out.

The demo is 905MB and is due out in just a few weeks. Superman Returns was due out in June to co-incide with the movie release, but EA pushed it back - here's hoping it makes a difference to the overall quality of the game. We'll have our official verdict shortly.

905MB is painful, but I'll see if I can dl it tomorrow.

That's certianly big, but it might be worth it. Still, it is a game based on a movie.. icon_twisted.gif

I still haven't seen the Superman returns movie (waiting for DVD to be released) but I can assure you from what I have seen in-game of the demo that it has not much to do with the movie.

What I saw in the demo:

Bizzaro Superman,The evil opposite alter ego of Superman blasting civilians and buildings/cars.

What looks like an alien arena where super beings face off against Superman.

Metallo in a small form and HUGE form after he sucked in some vehicles/metal objects.

Meteor storms.

If that's what the movie is like then I'm in for a real treat! icon_razz.gif

I actually thought that it was a bit blande at first but once I got used to the controls and the lock-on I found it to be really fun.I was a bit disappointed though in the lack of destruction on the buildings but on the streets where you can pick up cars, light posts, water storage silos, fly up high and toss them wherever was pretty cool.
I also loved the parts where you put out buildings totally ablaze by either with your freeze breath or a water storage silo.(i know its not a water silo, the word escapes me at this time. lol) was a real treat,me thinking all it was going to be was baddie bashing. Can't wait to see what other scenarios are presented in the full release.

The flying is excellently done also and is really easy to control, love the sporadic sonic booms too. icon_biggrin.gif I hope in the full game you can fly into outer space or at least the upper stratosphere.
Will be keeping an eye on this game because from the video at the end when you have finished the demo it looks like a real treat with all the chaos that ends up happening.

I'd give the demo a 7 out of 10.
Worth the 905mb download if you have the bandwith available just to see him stomp down on the ground from way up high right in the middle of a crossroad of a main intersection loaded with cars, slo-mo style. 8)

Unless they greatly lower the stratosphere for the game I doubt you'll be able to fly into space. It'd take too long (I read Superman tops out at 800mph in the game) and it'd be too much empty space to code into the game.

Superman Returns is the game I'm looking forward to most, I'm just praying that they aren't putting all their effort into the 360 version and forgetting the PS2 (which is what I'll be getting it on).
