Viva Piñata also region-free

360 News | Start luring candy critters today.

Can't be bothered waiting until 29th November for Rare's candy-filled-animal-me-do Viva Piñata? Then fear not, for Eurogamer has discovered that the US version of the game will work just fine and dandy on a PAL Xbox 360, just like Epic shooter Gears of War. We're not quite sure why this is happening precisely, but we're not complaining either.

I am seriously interested in this game. I can see past the cutesy look of it and see something original. I love weird games, and this may one that will lead to an Xbox360 for me later next year. Although I will need to see Banjo before hand though.

While this isn't bad news by any means, the game is so cheap here ($60 from DVDcrave) that importing is hardly necessary

More region free games is always welcome new though

I know this is the worst kind of rumour because I can't give you proof, but I have been informed that niether GOW nor viva are region free and that the locks are not working is somthing that will be addressed by patch soon enough.. this would be pure evil as it would mean one day you would log on and your game would suddenly say," not anymore you don't"

Breeding and what you two mean are completely different. Sure they both are similar acts but they utterly different in the minds of the participants

The drug isn't like a date **** drug... It's like saying to your significant other, "Hey look! I made you a Cane Toad icypole." You make the connections yourselves.

No idea it was a joke quote from Kotaku or somewhere, these freaks just took it out proportion, which is fair enough.

I could understand wine or something but drugs? That's pretty **** up.

Also I hope to jebus that GOW rumour isn't true.
They haven't done it to any other games so far and if they did it there would be a heap of angry gamers out there that imported it, myself included.

I ordered the Ltd Edition from Play-asia and it turns out the Asian version isn't region free

Geez...

Are PAL territories getting Special Editions? Is it tin or cardboard casing?

If PAL aren't getting special eds....maybe hang onto it and sell it at a later date....it could be worth a bit more.

I just read some reviews of this thing, and boy, it looks awesome. In fact, so awesome that if I had the money right now, I'd go and pick up a 360 for this.

Unfortunately I don't, though, so I guess I'm stuck playing the waiting game (which sucks, lets play Hungry Hungry Hippos).
