Gears of War most played XBox 360 game on Live

360 News | Halo 2 number one overall.
MajorNelson's blog has revealed that Gears of War was the most played Xbox 360 title on XBox Live for the week commencing the 6th of November. However, if you combined the Xbox 360 list with the Xbox list then Halo 2 is still being played more on live than Gears of War. It's worth noting Gears of War isn't available everywhere yet, so this could change. Nonetheless it just shows how popular Halo 2 still is.

Excitingly, PALGN will have our verdict on Gears of War very, very shortly. We'll need to pull Chris-Leigh away from the game first, but keep checking back for our verdict.

Well i guess i was expecting something like this, but at the same time, well done to GoW to do this...

Hmm More people have Live now, so im expecting GoW will be more popular than Halo 2 online.

And about Halo 2, its the game ive been playing the most online still icon_razz.gif

I doubt GoW will take #1 from Halo 2 for awhile yet, if ever. Halo 2 still has the more featured multiplayer component, and it all works so well. GoW only has one mode from what I've read.

Something I would be interested to know is, how many people are regularly accessing live from old Xboxs compared to 360s. You'd think that regular Live users would be the first to switch over, so I'm curious as to how far along that switch is.
