The magazine expanded on the "Spartan Laser" and "Man Cannon" mentioned in Level's article - apparently, the former (which can disable vehicles with a single shot) will be particularly tricky to use, requiring a three second charging period before you can get a shot off. You'll also need to lock on to your target, which should balance things out nicely. Meanwhile, the Man Cannon will be able to fire much more than just Spartans and Covenant - according to the article in the French OXM, vehicles and explosive barrels will also be fair game for a weapon that's already sounding like an awful lot of fun. Best of all, once airborne you'll be able to fire or even be shot down as you sail over Halo 3's maps.
The article also touched upon some of Halo 3's multiplayer modes, with Elimination (kill five members of the opposition team), NinjaBall (hanging onto a ball whilst everyone else hunts you down - essentially, Oddball with a new name) and TankFlag (where a tank transports the flag about and presumably does something with it) all being revealed for the first time. Also, the Warthog and Ghost vehicles supposedly handle in a similar fashion to the way they did in Halo 2, and there'll be a 16-player limit, which actually sounds quite appealing to us, as we rarely survive more than fifteen seconds with four people playing.
Obviously, an actual release date for the title is probably some way off, though Bungie did tell the magazine that the game is currently in the alpha stage of development. Ho hum.
