2 new classic maps for Perfect Dark Zero

360 News | Facility, anyone?
As Perfect Dark Zero passes the one million units sold milestone, it joins Kameo: Elements of Power as the Xbox 360’s first budget re-releases. The Platinum Hits Edition re-release of Perfect Dark Zero features six additional multiplayer maps that were not included in the original game way back at the launch of the Xbox 360. Along with the four that are currently available only on Xbox Live Marketplace, there are two brand new ones. Now, normally this wouldn’t be particularly interesting news, budget re-releases have been happening for years I hear you say. Well, when you consider the fact that these two new maps are Facility and Ruin - remakes of the two most popular maps from the original Perfect Dark on the Nintendo 64.

The Perfect Dark Zero Platinum Hits Edition includes:

• All six available multiplayer maps including:

• Facility - This dilapidated Soviet installation has been the centre of a firefight and has generally seen better days but should feel strangely familiar

• Ruin - A hidden ruin being used by dataDyne in connection to the Graal, older visitors will feel an odd sense of déjà vu

• Plaza* - Test your skills in this labyrinth of roofs, tunnels and alleyways

• Trench* - Unload in the desert at this archaeological expedition turned battlefield

• Rooftops* - Watch your back in this killing ground, where danger awaits around every corner

• Gas Plant* - Hide out amongst the pipes inside, or take your chances out in the snow

*Premium content for existing Perfect Dark Zero owners.

Current Perfect Dark Zero owners will be able to download the 2 new multiplayer maps, Facility and Ruin, for free via the Map Pack Two update available very soon on Xbox Live Marketplace.

In addition there will be a new update for Perfect Dark Zero. As well as a few minor tweaks and fixes it will most importantly address the ‘Cover Move’ exploit that meant players could hide themselves within various walls and objects.

With games like Call of Duty 3, Rainbow Six: Vegas and, of course, Gears of War on the very near horizon this is all maybe a case of ‘too little too late’, but if anything is going to worth going back to Perfect Dark Zero for it’s the thought of hiding the Facility toilets with a remote mine. Now if only they would remake Complex….

I've heard that PD0 keeps giving in multiplayer, so this should strengthen it, i can't believe Rare would remake the levels how impressive.

They're re-made Facility? Frick!
Guess I'll have to dust off my copy of PD0 and give it a look!

They're not up for download yet, but the re-release IS out in the UK so someone out there must know how authetic this Facility is surely?

hmmm this might actually prompt me to get PD0 which I hadn't considered previously.

Facility is cool but what about Temple, Complex, Skedar, Pipes.....

I hated the ruin level in PD. All those annoying doors with delays in opening. I'm suprised to hear it was popular. Skedar was much more fun.

Why don't they just give the peope what they want and release goldeneye and perfect dark with/without updated graphics.

I'd tap that, not this oxymoron of a game;far from perfect dark.

There is almost a solution to that. Ever heard of Goldeneye Source for PC ? Its only the multiplayer so far but still alot of fun.

I have heard of that actually, thought it was still like beta though....

Have you tried it?I actually remember someone was able to emulate goldeneye on the pc somehow and upped the res up on it to something crazy like 1024x, it looked frickin amzing, i've got an old n64 gamer with some screenies of it and mario 64 in action-it looked so awesome-ahhhh the sharpness, none of that n64 style blurriness.
