Viva Piñata video on Live

360 News | Piñatas give guided tour.
A video of Rare's next Xbox 360 project, the very colourful and very pretty Viva Piñata, has hit the Xbox Live Marketplace. The game borrows elements from Pokémon, Animal Crossing and The Sims, and sees players tending a garden and attempting to lure different piñatas. It's due out for International Presents Day (sorry, Christmas), and looks likely to be a major player in Microsoft's Xbox 360 Holiday line-up. Indeed, if you read our preview, you'll already know we're quite looking forward to it, despite the slightly creepy connotations of cannibalism.

In the video meanwhile, we're taught a bit more about Viva Piñata (by the piñatas themselves, no less), as well as being given the chance to see some more of the game in action. At 755MB it's admittedly a biggie, so get downloading now and marvel at just how damn annoying Horsetachio actually is. He'd be glue if we had our way.

Yea I downloaded this. The graphics are great and really clear, I just thought it was very very big for what it was. It goes for a good length and you get to choose between a few characters to guide you....but I dunno....maybe it was cuz it was heaps late or something but the characters were really getting on my nerves. Like they all have a bit TOO much personality! You know cartoons nowadays seem like the creators were on drugs and not the good kind....just whacked up on speed or sum similar sh!t! It just seems like all this stuff is made for kids with ADD when back in the day cartoons were more of an artform. Anyways i'm rambling but Viva Pinata's hosts/characters seem to be made for kids with ADD cuz they're just too hyperactive and loud. I really wish RARE/Microsoft tone it down a bit! I'm all for having eccentric characters but when every single one of them is like that...then it just goes from funny to annoying.

Come on RARE, your characters are usually some of the best in the biz (along with Rockstar).

And yea I realise this game/show is mostly supposed to be aimed at kids or the younger gen, but the characters really don't have to yell to get their point across.

Bingo. If all the characters are jacked to the nines then how does the game introduce a character that is REALLY out there? Shout louder still?

Subtle is classy because sensitive qualities are difficult to produce. We need classy game designers.

Come over for some sparring tomoz.

Also i agree with these over hyped cartoon figures that are just so fast paced and in your face they grate my nerves.Seems like every cartoon wants to be so cool they actually lost it in the translation, the new transformers for example...pitiful.

Yeah i'll be getting Viva no matter what though.
I like the concept for a laid back sandbox type game for relaxing and watching your little community build up.

I think it does and the other pinatas can scoop it up.

icon_lol.gif I feel ya!

Looks good, I love the graphical theme of the game..a bit over-exaggerated, but I guess they didn't want dull Pinatas giving a 'tour'..
