Viva Piñata images released

360 News | A flurry of colour.
Rare has just released some of the latest images of Viva Piñata and we must admit they look very impressive. The colours are so vibrant that you can't help but be impressed by the visual look of the game.

In Viva Piñata, you'll take control of a garden on Piñata island. On the island are Piñata, the task is to try and lure these Piñata's to your garden and to keep them there. Viva Piñata certainly looks like an obscure title but hopefully it features enough of that Rare magic to make it an enjoyable game.

We'll have more information on Viva Piñata shortly, so stay tuned to PALGN.

Very unusual visual style, but very cool I must admit.

Even better!

49.95? Really? I heard rumours of 79.95 and didn't even believe those.

Are you actually being serious?

Really? Table Tennis was $70.

Hopefully they fix the framerate - it was terrible last time I checked (sub 15).

That's awesome if it's that cheap! It'd be a guaranteed purchase rather than just a maybe.

The visual style is great icon_smile.gif

So this thing is sort of like Animal Crossing, but with villagers replaced with Pinatas that you care for and whatever?

For $50? Damn. I'd hit it.

You can also breed your villagers. If that was implimented in AC Mitch would hit that harder than a bus hitting a pedestrian on a freeway icon_lol.gif

Does breeding produce heap of hybrid pinata monsters? Could I breed a hippopotamus pinata with a giraffe pinata to make some sort of amazing giropotamus or hipporaffe pinata? Because that would be worth $50 alone.

^ You're sick! icon_razz.gif

I've been looking foward to this game since it got announced.

Hey check out this site:

http://www.vivapinata.com

Trubble squirrel, Norty fox and the music is what sold me (yea and this is all before you enter tha main site...heh). *sings* ViVa PiNaTa...

Seriously though....$49.95? No way it'll cost that much in Australia. I'm expecting between the $70 - $100 mark possibly.

Does anyone know when was the last time a game came out at $50 (name the game if you can).

I don't, ugh, but at $50 it'd be a definate purchase. Judging by Table Tennis, $70 sounds more realistic.

In addition to the Viva Piñata game, which will allow players to create their own environment where they can attract and host more than 60 species of wild piñatas and customize piñata-filled adventures in their unique-ever-growing world, the Special Edition Viva Piñata game, priced at $49.99 USD

Thats from the site, Im guessing theres about a $5USD difference between the standard. So we are most likely looking at about $70AU

EDIT: Just to confirm:

If it's $70 that's pretty good for us. Wasn't Table Tennis US$40?

US$50 usually translates to a $100 game for us here.

^ Yea exactly...that's why i'm thinking it'll be more like any other Xbox 360 game.

I actually get a little worried that a game will be coming out at a cheap/budjet price cuz it makes me wonder if the game is cheap/budjet. I hope not, i'd pay full price for this.
^ That's exactly how I feel. I thought Viva Pinata was going to be a full priced game, but now I hear that it's a budget title it makes me wonder what's 'wrong' with it. Is it lacking in depth? Have they half-arsed it? Did they not spend much time developing it?
^ Maybe its just a different selling strategy. If they lower the price theres bound to be more people buying it and it is a brand new title so it dosent really have a rep like the Halos. Maybe this is just a way to get the title out there.

As for the money conversion im not 100% sure how much it would be exactly. But im pretty sure its in that proximity. Most of the sites are listing at $70AU but who knows it might end up being more.

Oh I'd understand why they'd want to do a budget title, but psychologically there's still that factor when it's a fair bit cheaper than every other game icon_wink.gif

Lega Star Wars 2 for Gamecube, RRP AU$49.95.

that game looks evil, Smurfs evil.

Most multiplatform stuff on GC is 50 bucks as opposed to say 90 or 100, simply because they don't sell.

Yeah I think like that too. I always end up getting the most expensive games purely because I think im paying for a quality title. But then again think about all the expensive games which have been absolute crap.

What I find funny is that Table Tennis was cheap and was a great game but then theres Top Spin which goes for full price and its practicaly the same thing (and I would say more work went into Table Tennis).

I spose we will have to wait and see but it looks like its shaping up to be a quality title to me - even though it does sound slightly gimicky..

Wasn't Viva Pinata going to be made into a cartoon too? Like, it was going to be a whole franchise - game, show, merch, etc.
If that is the case then they might be planning to release a whole lot of DLC and stuff and hope to cash in on that?
