Tony Hawk's Project 8 soundtrack announced

360 News | 56 songs you can quadruple kickflip to.
The Tony Hawk series has long been associated with strong licenced soundtracks, even as the games themselves have become a bit stale, the background music has always been good. In fact, in the same way many people picked up a skateboard after being inspired by the game (only to learn that even a decent ollie takes months of practice), the games have introduced many people to some excellent indie rock over the years.

Well, Activision has revealed the full songlist for Tony Hawk's Project 8, which is coming out this year on PS2, PSP and Xbox 360 (also for PS3 in the US), and there are a whopping 56 tracks!

  • Bad Religion - "Social Suicide"

I agree, i'm thoroughly looking forward to this game, everything i've seen so far looks very impressive.

Anyone wanna give me a quick rundown on what will seperate this game from the rest of the flock (as in other Town Hawk games)? It just looks like more skating to me, not that it's a bad thing....i'm just wondering if it might be worth my time.

I think the big thing that's being touted is that it is, in fact, more skating and not more random stuff completely unrelated to skating like all the wierd stuff that's been creeping into the underground games.

I think the main difference (aside form the new engine) is the new Trick-stick control(s), or whatever they call it. Sounds pretty gimmicky IMO, but it could end up being decent.

And that is a good tracklist, makes the game that much more appealing.

Yea I was gonna say...the Underground games really detracted from the series roots (skating) and just became a shoddy mess. In all honesty the Project 8 game immediately had my attention because it looked very next gen compared to the Underground games.....like the graphics are seriously awesome!

I'm just wondering if the multiplayer is really gonna have such a cluttered HD, cuz they should take a couple of things off....it looks like it could get pretty distracting.

And yea....soundtrack is awesome. I'm just wondering how harder (more expensive) it would be to get atleast 2 songs from each artist onto the soundtrack....cuz that would be awesome! Imagine 2 songs from each of those artists? I'd make a copy for my car.

It's more refined this time, so a new game play engine, i've seen it in action and it does look good, the slow down whilst performing a trick feature looks fantastic, you can really just do the trick how you want, without a doubt it will be the best Tony Hawk game since THPS4, but whether it will be better than THPS4 remains to be seen.
