For those with shoddy internet capabilities, the retail version will also include all other downloadable content that has been available for Oblivion from the beginning. Here's a refresher of the available goodies for the technologically disinclined, and those who have only just purchased a 360 (such as myself) Horse Armor, The Orrery, Wizard’s Tower, Vile Lair, Thieves Den, Mehrunes’ Razor, and Spell Tomes.
“We’re pleased to bring this new content to Xbox 360 and to Windows gamers who have been so supportive of Oblivion,” said Vlatko Andonov, President of Bethesda Softworks. “To date, the response to our new downloadable content has been terrific – it’s easily the most popular downloadable content on Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox 360 and has been very popular for Windows as well – and we think the opportunity to enjoy an entirely new faction and quests is something our fans will be eager to try.”
Those bored with the current guilds and factions can rejoice, as Knights of the Nine will introduce an all-new faction, complete with extra quests and story content for noble characters. The expansion will also set about solving some of the mysteries surrounding the Ayleid ruins that are found throughout Oblivion. Knights of the Nine will also have players found their very own order of Holy Knights, and lead them on an epic quest to recover the legendary holy armour and weapons of the Divine Crusader. Nice.
Almost inarguably the single greatest game on the Xbox 360, Oblivion has been begging for a definitive expansion for a long time. Knights of the Nine is sure to add even more hours of play to a seemingly infinite game, and will cause many more late nights for die-hard players. I should really get a move on, having only just escaped the Imperial Sewers...
