Need for Speed Carbon demo on Marketplace

360 News | You may be waiting a while to download it, though.
EA has just released the demo for Need for Speed: Carbon on the Live Marketplace. It's certainly been a busy day on there, with Totemball released only a few hours earlier. If you've been following Need for Speed: Carbon, then you'll know the game sees you racing around neighbourhoods, trying to take over all of them. If you've paid extra attention to the game, then you'll also be aware that you'll eventually end up in Carbon Canyon, which is where the racing gets more dangerous, but you already knew that didn't you?

The demo weighs in at just over 1GB, so start the download immediately and it may be finished before the game is released on 9 November. Look for a review around then.

Yeah ? I was thinking of downloading it, but 1 gig seems a bit much for that.

^ It looks like a old gen game and it only gives you two races. I was really dissapointed with it. Plus the controls suck. Why anyone would get this over the good racing games on 360 im not sure icon_razz.gif

Thanks guys, I think I'll pass on the carbon demo.
I wanted to see how it is but TDU keeps me highly entertained for driving anyways.

O_O WOW!.. it took just one post to kill everyone ...

If you say bad, how so bad?

The impression i've been getting is that this is gonna rule and everyone is looking forward to it...

I've read a bunch of bad reports about this demo - mostly from NFS fans - saying that the cars/controls feel far too loose and unresponsive. If its taken a step back from the Underground series (which I thought played pretty poorly) then I'm steering far clear of this one (no pun intended).

Actually I think the storage capacity of the Wii might be an issue that could rear it's head very quickly. I know you can use an SD card for extra storage but I still think it may well add to the overall cost of the console over the long haul.
BTW I did download the demo for NFSC & so far I am not very impressed by it .

What is it like, compared to Most Wanted?

Most Wanted was a bit of fun.

^ Like Karai Pantsu pointed out, the controls arent very good. A fair bit different to the decent most wanted. Then you have the shoddy looking graphics that look like in my opinion worse than most wanted. They made everything look so dark - im guessing thats to hide the graphics from picky people like me icon_razz.gif

In a word? Pathetic.

Judge Carbon by itself though and it does improve. Slightly. When I first fired the demo up my initial impression was 'go back to the drawing board EA' but as I continued on I did start to enjoy myself. The issue with the controls is true, they are far too loose and don't feel right at all. Graphically the game looks like a last-gen title but that in a way makes sense considering EA is whoring it out to every platform ever made. Well, almost.
Issues aside, Carbon was okay. It has the potential to be good come the final product but I dunno, it just seems to be lacking something that previous NFS titles had. Can't place what that is though. One thing is for certain though, it has absolutely nothing on Most Wanted..
