TimeShift delayed until 2007

360 News | TimeShifted.
Vivendi has sent us news that Xbox 360 and PC first-person shooter TimeShift has been dropped back to a 2007 release. "Vivendi acquired TimeShift with the view that it would become a stand out FPS franchise," said the excellently named Bennett Ring, PR manager for Vivendi. "Our commitment to that vision remains, and so the decision has been taken to move the title into 2007 to give it the time and resources needed to fulfil its potential."

In the game, you take control of test pilot Michael Swift, and get to indulge in all manner of time-travelling and time-manipulation larks. We had a decent hands-on session with TimeShift back in May at E3 and, whilst a little too familiar in parts for its own good, we were left feeling fairly impressed.

The article title doesn't make sense, it's 2007 now! How can it be delayed until this year?

Check the date it was posted on icon_wink.gif

I just read the latest preview of TimeShift on 1up today, apparently the time-control ... uhh... controls have been simplified to the point where its all just context sensitive. I'm not sure that I like the idea of not being able to choose whether to slow or stop, etc.

I have been researching this game and it is entering undoubtadely the toughest gaming genre at the minute, namely First-Person-Shooters. Whilst the concept of altering and manipulating time is a good one, they have to produce a nearly flawless product to rival the big guns (Halo, Gears of War, Resistance). Hopefully, for the gamers sake they do.
