No Xbox 360 shortages this Xmas, promises MS

360 News | Microsoft man is "very confident."
In an interview with Eurogamer TV, Microsoft Europe head honcho Chris Lewis has promised that finding an Xbox 360 this Christmas will pose no significant difficulties for consumers. Lewis' pledge contrasts sharply with recent admissions from SCEA president Kaz Hirai, who has conceded that getting enough PlayStation 3 consoles on shop shelves to meet Christmas demand would be a "logistical impossibility" for Sony.

Of course, Microsoft itself is not unfamiliar with launch shortages - when the Xbox 360 first appeared last year, the console was so scarce that some people went to all sorts of lengths to get one. However, things are apparently going be different this year, with Lewis promising that, "there will be no stock shortages anywhere in the region over this Christmas period, I can assure you of that. I'm very confident that we have the production capacity to suit our ambitions."

So confident was Lewis that he even wished Sony good luck for the PS3 launch this November. "I should say I wish them well," he said, proving that a heart full of love beats beneath that cast-iron executive exterior. "And I do; this is a tough business and I think they're taking on a tough challenge there in terms of the launch ambitions they're talking about, so we'll see how that manifests itself over time. But right now we're not deviating from the path we're on and we certainly won't be distracted."

Hmm. So the PS3 wont be able to handle the christmas crush , you have to wonder when PS3 will actually have enough units to do this. Im thinking a long time. Xbox got a huge headstart and i think it will keep it.
