Pac-Man out now on Xbox Live Arcade

360 News | A little known title some of you may have heard of.
Pac-Man has just been released on Xbox Live, and is available for 400 Microsoft points. The title is one of Namco's most successful franchises, and if you haven't caught it on the Xbox, PlayStation 2, Gamecube, PSP, Nintendo DS or any of the previous consoles it's been released on, then now's your chance.

A demo has also been released, which lets you play through two levels, but if you've played the game before then you pretty much know what to expect. The game also includes twelve achievements, but no real enhancements have been made to the game.

Pac-Man is supposedly the last title in Microsoft's Xbox Live Wednesdays campaign, though the Official Xbox Magazine in the UK has said we can expect Texas Hold 'Em (Aug 16), Time Pilot (Aug 23), Scramble (Aug 30) and Lumines Live (Sept 6) in the coming weeks. Those dates have yet to be officially confirmed by Microsoft however, so stay tuned.

Some of these games really should be free.

I found that pac-man on ridge racer(unlocked) handles better with the analogue stick than the XBL version. :s

I can't believe they have made another one.. Pac-man was probably good when it first came out but after the second remake it just became old. I agree with Echo_Possum this game won't do well, and if it does its probably because of the old school Pac-Man fans icon_neutral.gif

Pacman Vs. is the one game worth getting. They should have brought that to Xbox Live. I guess there's not going to happen as Shigeru Miyamoto developed the idea. Maybe on the Wii though.

I've had about ten attempts or so now, and I agree with Xcs:sIVE - the controls are nowhere near 2006 standards when it comes to responsiveness. I usually die because of the controls, and that ain't good in any game. Didn't stop Eurogamer giving it the most confused 8/10 ever though.

It does have that old-skool addiction of chasing high scores, but to be honest Geometry Wars is so far ahead of this it isn't funny.

Who would pay for Pacman? I'm confused.
