Interestingly (but not surprisingly), November 17th is also the date Sony launches the PS3 in the UK, but we're sure that's just coincidence.
Typically for a big-name release, Gears is also set to come in two flavours, with a collector's limited edition version (don't miss out - only eight million to be produced!) that comes with an art book, a bonus DVD on the making of the game and a snazzy metal box available alongside the standard version. As you'd expect, Microsoft is possibly even more excited than us, with general manager Shane Kim describing the title as "the must-have game of 2006,” which is strange, as a few months back he described Viva Piñata as, "important, if not more important, than Gears of War," but there you go.
Anyway, go and scrawl a big fat red circle around November 17th, and don't forget to take a peek at what we thought of the game when we got a chance to go hands-on with it.
