Sega serves up Virtua Tennis 3 screenshots

360 News | As we pick our mouth up off the floor.
Sega have sent through the latest Virtua Tennis 3 screenshots and we thought we'd post them up for your viewing pleasure.

We're big fans of the Virtua Tennis franchise at PALGN, so to say we're looking forward to this game is an understatement. Sadly, not much information has been revealed about the game and all we know so far is that the game will have a career mode and there will be more training mini-games than ever before.

We've included the images in the media panel, please make sure you clean up after yourself.

To be quite honest I do not see the big deal about these images. The one of Lleyton Hewitt looks nothing like him! This tennis would want to have better gameplay than Top Spin 2 because at the moment I am not impressed. So what the texture is a bit more realistic, the rest is not impressive.

Have you guys been to the optometrist lately?

Dont forget to let Woman's Day know about Lleyton's appearance... I hope one of the mini games is lobbing their baby girl over the net... or maybe just smacking Bec around with a racket... I'm pretty much sick of the celebrity couple no matter their sporting prowess, rank in the Hottest 100 women OR appearance in my favourite sporting franchise from SEGA.

Either way VT3 looks amazing and is a shining jewel of exclusivity for SONY...

Until release I see no reason to take VT2 out of my Dreamcast, maybe even for some time after

Question: If it's exclusive for Sony, why is it in Xbox 360 news?

Ha ha. Sega don't write much for sony anymore. Microsoft pretty much own them. I don't think it looks amazing anyway. I personally think it looks crap and I am highly disappointed. Hopefully SEGA proves me wrong. They have a lot to prove if they want to take the current Top Spin 2 fans/playes as their graphics sure wont do it. Top Spin shat all over VT2 anyway.

Looks good. icon_smile.gif

To be honest, the gameplay in Virtua Tennis 2 outshines Top Spin 2, so this is pretty much a given. I can't see them making the game any worse.

**** you're right... looks like I'm behind the *tennis* ball today...

I still havent made my gen HD gaming choice yet, and if VT is multiplatform (like every other HD gen I'm craving) it looks like I still have a way to go before my decision is made.

Virtua Tennis 2 was great I was ranked 1 with one of my male character and about 10th with my female, My friend borrowed the game when he gave it back the disk was soo scratched it couldn't be read. He ended up giving me $50 but I couldn't find another copy ( before I used ebay ).

IMO If anyone should be making a Tennis game, it should be Rockstar who make one.

After their offering of Table tennis I think RS have created a dynamic graphics/physics engine that could easily be carried through to the format of tennis and I think it would be a wise move if RS considered an entry into the genre of Tennis.

Seeing these VT3 screens sure made me feel like the format of tennis was a bit stale, I think SEGA need some tips from RS if theyre ever going to bring a "life" to the players and graphics.
I think a new graphics engine may be in order??

^ The gameplay in VT is untouchable, A graphical overhaul is just a bonus. Actually, I hope sega includes more World Tour training missions.

^I guess you need a high view as its a court sport, and VT was fast and furious like table tennis.

I suppose its like that rule. Keep It Simple Stupid. Seems to keep games fun. Hell NSMB for example. 20 years on.

But I sure would like to see an offering of tennis from RS icon_biggrin.gif

Screen shots looking nothing more then Top spin 360. Shame on the title, really.

VT is a solid game, but IMO TP borrowed heavily from it, so I can't see where they can improve. Prove me wrong Sega, prove me wrong.

PS - I miss my Dreamcast and the lack it failed. Stupid general public for not embracing a great console.
