New Gears of War screenshots emerge

360 News | Stunning new footage from the highly anticipated third-person shooter.

Epic has unleashed a new batch of delicious screenshots from its upcoming FPS title for the Xbox 360, which can be conveniently found in our media panel below.

Expected for a release later this year, Gears of War allows gamers to assume the role of Marcuys Fenix, a disgraced former war hero seeking personal redemption. The title combines the intense action of a typical First-Person title, as well as the sick and twisted aspects you’d expect from a survival horror title.

Gears of War utilises the new Unreal Engine 3 to create an engaging gaming experience that already stands head-over-heels as the most visually impressive titles of the next-generation.

I can't wait to hear a release date for Gears of War. It looks so good, I've watched all the gameplay videos I can find, and crave some more. I just hope it's not overhyped.

Nope, you're not overhyped. This game will rock.

Then again, I went into our little play session at e3 with anything but high hopes; more like the complete opposite. I was expecting just another run-of-the-mill shooter without much else going for it. Ok, so maybe that's exactly what it was, but that doesn't explain why it was so much fun to play.

In that regard, it's no wonder why I'm praising it so greatly. But to you guys that have always had these high hopes for the game, I guess I can't really say whether you are over-hyping it or not. Just know that it's solid, and for the moment, multiplayer is where it's at. Of course, give me a little time with the single player campaign, and I might be singing a different tune.

There are some pretty amazing screens there too btw.

If that's what the 360 can do, just imagine what the PS3 will give us!!
