E3 2006: New Lost Planet screenshots

360 News | Capcom's upcoming shooter is looking purdy.
Lost Planet is an upcoming Capcom shoot 'em up for the Xbox 360, and it's looking rather fine. The story sees players stuck in the frozen wasteland of a far away planet. Of course, humans have managed to piss off the native wildlife, the Akrid - and if that wasn't enough of a powder keg, you can add in alien invaders. Humans come equiped with a VS (vital suit), aiding them as they blast their way through alien critters. The game runs in a third-person perspective - similar to Jet Force Gemini, by the look of it - and can also be taken on line in a host of multiplayer options.

The game is slated for a Q1 release next year in North America, hopefully with a PAL release at the same time. If you just can't wait, there are some brand new E3 screenshots in the media panel.
