E3 2006: Too Human tidbits

360 News | A plethora of new screenshots, along with a bit of stuff you probably didn't know about Too Human.
Too Human has a long and storied past - it's been scheduled for release on (almost) every console since the PSOne, before ending up on what appears to be the final stop, the Xbox 360. On top of that, it's also suppose to be the first game in a trilogy by Silicon Knights - if the first game has taken this long, how long will the wait for the next two be? Regardless of the console musical chairs, it hasn't stopped Too Human from being one of the most anticipated games around in the last half-dozen years.

The story appears to be suitably epic. Players will take control of the 'cybernetic god' Baldur, who has the wonderful job of protecting humanity from various evil creatures and robots who are hellbent on ridding the universe of our kind. We just can't win, can we? Silicon Knights are promising the game will be highly cinematic, for both story AND combat scenes. Sounds ambitious.

As the cybernetic god, players will have a sack-full of upmarket hardware - and not just guns, thanks to the Unreal Engine 3. Melee combat will also be a big factor. Players will also be able to tweak big ole' Baldur with their own preferences, too. As well as that, Baldur will have an array of special moves, hinting that there will be a serious combo system in place for dedicated players. Best of all, the game will have co-operative play online and through a system link.

In what appears to be a mis-print, Microsoft have actually confirmed that the game is scheduled for release this year - for the Christmas rush, to be exact. Too Human? Released? Surely not! What's next, Duke Nukem Forever?

Regardless, you can check out the latest batch of E3 screenshots in the media panel.
