X360 Phantasy Star: out-of-bounds for PS2/PC players

360 News | 360 owners to be denied multiformat adventuring.
A week or so ago, Sega confirmed that the Xbox 360 would be getting its own version of Phantasy Star Universe, to be released alongside the PlayStation 2 and PC version. Regrettably, Sega admitted today that while owners of the PS2 and PC versions will be able to link up and play together, PSU on the 360 will only allow players to connect with other owners of the 360 version, via Xbox Live. Boo, hiss, etc.

The confirmation from Sega came about after a report on fan-site PSO World. Still, the news hasn't dampened our anticipation for the game too much. Due to hit PC, PS2 and the 360 in October, the title will allow groups of up to six players to team up and battle all manner of interesting beasties. And before then, we should be seeing more of it at E3.

Makes sense though. Friends lists, Reputation wouldn't work if other platforms joined in.

That's a bit of a rip off, but it could be worst. Such as, PC players only able to play with or against other PC players and so on.
