Free week of Gold Xbox Live in May

360 News | Sponsored by adidas. How kind of them.
In the interests of promoting all things World Cup, Microsoft, EA and adidas have got together to sponsor a free week of Xbox Live Gold, complete with its own title, the 'Xbox Live Football Free-For-All'. Rather nice of them, no? The week starts on Monday 8th May, before wrapping up - predictably - a week later on Monday 15th May. This means that everybody can download various demos, trailers and, best of all, play against each other online.

If that wasn't good enough, there's also the chance to win one of eleven limited edition World Cup Xbox 360 consoles (because why have one 360 when you can have two?), complete with nifty faceplate, a copy of 2006 FIFA World Cup and a coupon which can be redeemed for an adidas match ball. As well as that, there's also the chance to win one of eleven Xbox Live Gold subscriptions.

"We're very excited to be working with adidas to bring people the Xbox 360 Football Free-For-All. Football fans and gamers will get the chance to experience just how exciting High Definition, multiplayer gaming can be over Xbox Live. But above all, this is just a brilliant way to get together with your friends and enjoy football. I want to thanks adidas for making this a possibility," said Richard Teversham, EMEA Director of Marketing and Platform, Xbox, making sure to get enough plugs for adidas in.

At this stage however, we don't know whether this is for the UK only, or worldwide. We imagine it would be the latter, but keep watching this space for confirmation either way.
