Xbox 360 launch party details

360 News | Where to be to get free food and a free game. Oh, and an X360.
Microsoft has revealed details on where the best place is to pick up your Xbox 360 late Wednesday evening (or early Thursday morning depending on your perspective). The Xbox 360 launch party will be held at the Pitt Street Mall in Sydney, and is set to feature street performers and an abundance of free food.

What's more, everyone who purchases a console on the evening from the Pitt Street EB will receive a free X360 game (we’re assuming this will either be PGR3, PD0 or Kameo). Channel V will be filming the party and Nova 96.9 will be broadcasting live. Microsoft will be setting up LCD screens so you can play the Xbox 360 before you buy it.

If you need even more incentive, a few of the PALGN staff will be there to cover the event. If you find us, we'll take your picture and put it up on the site.

Based on pre-order figures, $30 - $40 million worth of Xbox 360 consoles and games will be sold on March 23rd. We’ll have more information on the Xbox 360 launch, including our official verdict on the launch titles in the next week. Stay tuned folks.

Sounds like it would be a blast. Too bad I'm stuck in Melbourne, again. I'm also glad to see it getting some pretty decent coverage. Let's just see if the news stations can get their info right this time around.

For those of us who are stuck in Melbourne for the launch. EB richmond is holding their launch upstairs at the Hoyts cinemas, so from 10pm till midnight (I assume everyone will be more interested in playing there own after then...) you can play around with a 360 on a cinema sized screen!

Only cause none of the three have their HQs there.

Microsoft: Sydney

Nintendo: Scorsby

Sony: Sydney?

I hope the other three organise launch day madness... It's great Microsoft is organising stuff like this, it makes gaming in Australia reconised as something worthwhile rather then something just "nerds" do.

This story was written by Luke Van Leuveren, although it is blatenley ripped from Xbox.com.au with a few changes in words - I find all the good news sites acknowledge their sources.

Actually it's taken from the press release MS sent us AND it's been heavily re-written. How would you like us to source press releases? Xbox.com.au just posts the releases verbatium.

Anyways....I don't understand why only Sydney gets a freebie game. Stupid EB, give the rest of us a game!

I will be attending the Brisbane, Queen St Mall midnight launch at EB. Good times.

Actually it's Microsoft that are giving away the free game and yes it is those 3 titles. PGR3, Kameo and Perfect Dark. I'm getting Kameo myself.

Also you missed out the most important point...Dancing Girls!! Woo Hoo! It's the reason i'm going to the one at centre point.....oh yea and the free game.

*grumble* *grumble* Well I guess, us QLD'ers will be happy enough with a midnight launch with no dancing girls or free game or free food...

Free Game? I don't think you can get free game at Launch Party.... Free Demo maybe, but just not free game
