Microsoft promises Xbox 360 will still launch in 2005...

360 News | ...contrary to recent rumours.
Speaking at last week's Xbox Summit, Microsoft executive Peter Moore was keen to quash rumours that the company's Xbox 360 would not appear until 2006, reassuring those present that the machine was still on course for it's release this year in Europe, North America and Japan.

'We are going to make history when we launch in three regions this holiday season: Japan, Europe, and North America. That's never been done before, but we will do it,' he announced as the audience collectively gasped and swooned at the sheer ambition of such a claim.

Moore also went on to praise the Japanese market, calling it 'the world's first gaming superpower,' before adding, 'I know that success in this country is the ultimate tribute to the compelling power of our new platform.' Though what that says about the Xbox we'll leave for you to interpret.

Anyway, we'll bring you an official release date just as soon as Microsoft see fit to give it.

Let's hope a Microsoft promise lasts longer than a "Microsoft Minute".

I'd like it if they promised a 2005 Australian release heh

I guess we get longer to save up and pick what games we want >_>
