Konami working on Xbox 360 exclusive

360 News | Though they're keeping quiet on what it is for now.
In an interview with Japanese magazine Toyo Keizai, Konami president Michihiro Ishizuka has revealed that his company are currently slaving away on a title exclusively for Microsoft's Xbox 360 platform. And although he refused to divulge much more than that, he did assure the magazine that the title was an all-new product, rather than a property from Konami's illustrious back catalogue.

'We will provide one or two flagship titles for each machine, which will take advantage of their capabilities as next-generation consoles,' said Ishizuka cryptically. 'We will release a new Metal Gear as a flagship title for the PS3 (so despite recent rumours, it does look as though Snake's next adventure will be a PS3 exclusive), and are developing an original product for the Xbox 360.'

Ishizuka also briefly talked about Konami's plans for the immediate future, and explained that the developer would be releasing a smaller range of games during the next generation of consoles. 'Most of the titles that don't require full use of technology will be released on multi-platforms, including PC,' the Konami big cheese said. 'We will need to narrow down the number of titles that we release.'

As ever, expect news as soon as we find out more.
