Pre E3 2005: Xbox 360: The Games

360 Feature | PALGN looks at EVERY game being released for the Xbox 360, with screenshots and the first information about some of the games.
We've added every game we know that is in development for the Xbox 360 to our games panel, so it is now even easier to keep track of the XBox 360. We're going to be running features for the entire weekend, so stay tuned for more 360 news. With any console announcement a lot of rumours go around and we've made it our duty to report only the facts, so everything you hear on PALGN is 100% accurate. So, without delay we present every game we know about for the Xbox 360.

Alan Wake:

The creators of Max Payne are back, with an all new franchise titled Alan Wake. We don't know much about the game at all (actually, we know nothing) but we are definitely anticipating the game.

Blue Dragon:

A role playing game for the Xbox? Yes, ex-Square developers are hard at work on this Xbox 360 RPG exclusive. We've got no information or screenshots, but its good to know it is on its way.

Call of Duty 2:

Coming simultaneously to the Xbox 360 and the PC is the sequel to Activision's Call of Duty. We cannot wait. Call of Duty 2 will follow the storylines of four individual soldiers.

Condemned:

The Xbox 360 will see its first survival horror game with Condemned .The game focuses on Ethan Thomas, serial killer hunter, and gamers must navigate the urban environments and survive.

Dark Sector:

The creators of Unreal Championship and Unreal Tournament 2003 are back with a first-person sci-fi action game.

The Darkness:

Created by the same people who developed The Chronicles of Riddick, The Darkness will be adapted from the comic book of the same name. The comic centres around a mafia hitman.

Demonik:

This game will be based on a horror movie. And that's about all we know.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion:

Morrowind's next chapter will begin here. The game is said to offer the same open ended game play as its predecessors and should be a visual treat.

Full Auto:

Full Auto will be a car combat game. Gamers will pick a car and load it with machine guns and other weapons - think Mashed with bigger cars. Full Xbox Live support will be included out of the box.

Gears of War:

Microsoft are publishing this game and it looks like it is going to be huge. Gears of War is a sci-fi shooter - is this the next big thing for Microsoft?

Ghost Recon 3:

Ubisoft show their support of the XBox 360 by bringing Ghost Recon 3 to the machine. We haven't got much information, but we've got a screenshot below. It's pretty.

Ghost Recon 3

Kameo: Elements of Power

After a lot of delays, Rare's action adventure game has been moved to the Xbox 360. The game centres around a female who has the ability to transform into different monsters.

Madden NFL 2006:

EA is back - go figure - and of course, Madden is back. The first trailer of the game was shown a few weeks ago and looks absolutely stunning. We'd rather see AFL though...

NBA 2K6:

We do expect EA to announce a NBA title for the XBox 360 in the coming weeks, but for now NBA 2K6 is the only NBA title coming to the Xbox 360.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted:

The Need for Speed series is back, and this time it looks like it is going back to its roots. It should be an incredible game that makes us remember what was so brilliant about Need for Speed in the first place (Was there anything brilliant about the series in the first place... - Ed.).

Perfect Dark Zero:

Perfect Dark is finally back, and it's a launch title for the Xbox 360. This is going to be a game to watch, as it looks like being the flagship launch title. Microsoft are claiming that Perfect Dark Zero will support 50 players on Xbox Live simultaneously without affecting the frame-rate - we'll believe it when we see it.

Project Gotham Racing 3:

We know nothing, but we've managed to score an image of the game, and it looks brilliant.

Quake 4:

We weren't expecting Microsoft to officially announce Quake 4, but then they have. Nothing known at this point.

Saint's Row:

Rockstar won't be releasing Grand Theft Auto for the Xbox for a long time, but for now THQ are developing a Grand Theft Auto style game that will attempt to fill the void.

Tomb Raider: Legend

Lara Croft is back, and what better way to make a debut? The Tomb Raider franchise goes multi-platform, and Lara should be looking better than ever before.

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland:

Tony Hawk is back for his billionth installment. The game will take place in Los Angeles, one huge city with no load times. For the first time BMX riding will also be featured, along with online play.

That just about wraps up our summary of the Xbox 360 games. We are sure you'll agree that there are some absolutely sensational games in the works. Keep your eyes on the home page for more updates on the machine over E3.

hurray for vehicular combat games... a sadly neglected genre IMO... hasn't been a good one since Interstate '76...

and Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion isn't the next chapter of the Morrowind saga, Morrowind was the 3rd chapter of Elder Scrolls, and Oblivion is chapter 4 of Elder Scrolls.

petty i know, but more accurate...

Full Auto certainly looks promising, as does a few other games such as the next Elder Scrolls and Perfect Dark Zero. Project Gotham 3 has most of my interest though, hot diggity damn is it gorgeous.
