Xbox Live Update - 06/07/2011

360 News | Stack up those bargains.
Major Nelson is having a nap for the next week or so, the big man is exhausted from playing all of the great games that aren't available on Kinect. We joke... but not really. Anyway, more pressing matters need to be addressed, like bargains and games and stuff.

Deals of the Week:

The northern hemisphere is bathing in sunshine, so these 'Heating Up Summer' deals make perfect sense. Not so much down under, where earthquakes have recently rocked Melbourne and rain continues to drop. The joys of Winter. At least we have some good content on sale, with Stacking and Torchlight standing out as clear purchases.

  • Stacking - 600 MSP (AU$10), a saving of 50%
  • Torchlight - 800 MSP (AU$13), a saving of 33%
  • Dante's Inferno: Dark Forest Pack - 200 MSP (AU$3.25), a saving of 50%
  • Medal of Honor Hot Zone Pack - 400 MSP (AU$6.50), a saving of 50%
  • Rock Band Red Hot Chili Peppers Blood Sugar Sex Magik Album - 1200 (AU$20), a saving of 25%

New Releases:

There's nothing of great importance hitting the Arcade this week, but you might find something worth looking at. Dead Block will be available for 800 MSP (AU$13); a stylish zombie defence shooter, focusing on teamwork and sweet weapons to eliminate the walking corpses. It's always fun when zombies are involved, right?

Deadliest Warrior: Legends is also going to be available at some stage tonight, and just like before, it's going to set you back 800 MSP (AU$13). Similar to its older brother from around this time last year, it offers more of the same unusual fighting encounters with a wide range of unique characters. While it doesn't compensate for the absence of Mortal Kombat, it's better than nothing.
