Irish teen behind Xbox Live attack

360 News | Hack the beast, get a job.
Sony has been at the forefront of the video game media because of the PlayStation Network hack, but in case you had forgotten, Microsoft also got a scare last month. A fourteen year old teenager from Dublin, Ireland was the source of a hacking incident on Xbox Live, according to Herald.ie.

The attack came through Modern Warfare 2, which is no surprise considering the amount of problems that are associated with it. Anyone who has played Infinity Ward's latest during the past year will be familiar with spam and other garbage of that nature, it's common knowledge. But when a youngster from Tallaght was bored and clearly not doing his homework, Microsoft issued an alert around the globe about some nasty phishing attempts.

Fortunately, sensitive information wasn't accessed and Modern Warfare 2 users were able to breathe a sigh of relief. It looks like Microsoft was impressed too, as they're now working with the teenager so his 'skills' can be used positively. Will Sony follow and reward the people responsible for the bringing the PlayStation Network to its knees? What do you think...

Thing is you pi$$ off a big corp like Sony enough "anomalously", no one will even know why you suddenly just "disappeared"...

I think that will be the PSN hackers reward

I don't think whoever hacked the PSN will "Dissapear" at all, if anything he/she will be put right in the middle of a spotlight and heavily sued/punished for what he/she did.

It's the PSN fer chrissakes, not a line of tanks in Tienanmen Square.

You read through your post a second time to make sure there were no grammatical errors.

well after some upskilling from microsoft, he and his other super- hacker team mates on microsofts payroll certainly did a number on sony icon_smile.gif . or am i one of the only people who has come to that conclusion? ohhh wait a minute, just a couple of days ago xbox had some marketplace difficulties as well, darn! they are obviously victims as well, and they responded soo promptly in telling the public, unlike that awful sony. i guess that disproves my completely irrational theory then.........
