Brand new Alan Wake inbound

360 News | Alan, wake up again.
It's a safe bet to say that Remedy Entertainment is working on a follow-up project to 2010's Alan Wake, saying otherwise is pure denial. The shape of his next adventure however, that's not so clear, although Eurogamer managed to pluck a few details from Oskari Hakkinen, one of Remedy's main men.

Hakkinen said that "Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming! But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake instalment will not be Alan Wake 2. And neither will it be DLC". He continues, "It's something that'll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this instalment will also give an opportunity for players who aren't familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board."

Remedy's official announcement will explain more details, although the developer hasn't set a date. Possibly a sneak peek at E3? Hakkinen didn't confirm. Curiously, he finished by saying that "We can't wait to show you more, bear with us. Release dates, platforms and pricing are unconfirmed as of yet, but Fall 2011 is probably a good guess". Read that bit carefully - platforms!

Alan Wake was released exclusively on the Xbox 360 (review over here), but Hakkinen seems to suggest that the troubled writer could be broadening his horizons. Who knows? Find out soon.

Not too keen. First game was the same thing from chapter 6 onwards.

Really dug the Alan Wake. Even, as dloiscute said, It was the same thing through most of the adventure.
Interesting that they say 'platforms'.

Yeah as Joystiq suggested, it's probably a game of the year type version for PC and PS3.

I really liked the game, but it was super repetitive when you think about it.
