Risen 2: Dark Waters announced

360 News | To ban, or not to ban?
A sequel to Risen, a game that never made it past the Australian censorship board, is in the works. According to Xbox360achievements.org, the RPG is moving into 'uncharted territories'.

Does that uncharted territory include the biggest island in the world? Only time will tell. The events in Dark Waters occur after the first adventure, and players will be required to banish some beastly creatures back into the deep blue sea (hence the title). Plenty of new characters will pop up, including pirates; and the game will also be using new technology, which should resolve some of the problems that hindered the original. It's still a third-person RPG and many of the world's mechanics remain, but the overall feel is expected to differ greatly.

One screenshot has been released to showcase this new direction. A release date hasn't been confirmed yet, but we do expect to see Risen 2 appearing on Xbox 360 and PC.

Hmm, had no idea Risen was banned here.

I imported it because it was cheap, not because I knew it was the only way to get it icon_wink.gif

In saying that, it wasn't really a good game on 360 anyway.

I really enjoyed Risen, I can't wait to import this one after it gets banned.

I bought it off steam at some point when it was on sale.
I didn't even realise it was banned. It's not available anymore so I guess I must have picked it up at the right time.

I have to say the water in that screenshot looks stunning. The foliage and light in the clouds also looks pretty damn good.

I expect it to be nothing like that upon
release.

Yeah, that's a bullshot if ever I saw one, but I'm just excited for a sequel.

can hardly wait for them to ban it, even though a bunch of other games that got through have exactly the same thing in them.

Banned? Picked it up cheap from PlayAsia so I had no idea, seems like the only reason it would be banned is because the developer is too small to fight the ban.

considering that both gta and saints row 2 have exactly the same thing in them, i would say so

Was a good game and good gothic spin off.
But the end boss battle was terrible...massive let down.
