Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit DLC announced

360 News | Speeding its way onto a console near you.
Criterion Games has today announced that new content will be heading to Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit just in time for Christmas holidays, with the 'Super Sports' downloadable content pack set to hit the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the title.

The DLC will be priced at US$6.99 (560 Microsoft Points) and it will add some serious horsepower to the high-speed racer in the form of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, GUMPERT Apollo S and Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. For those who have completed the title and are looking for a new challenge, fear not as the DLC will also be packing 13 new race and pursuit events.

The Super Sports pack is scheduled for release on 21 December on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Currently there is no word on if and when the DLC will hit the PC version of the title. You can check out the content in action in the trailer below.

Damn, that didn't take long. I'll have to get cracking on the Plat trophy before this comes out. I really hope the new cars don't unbalance the current car series, because I'd like to avoid this DLC if it's possible.

"13 new race and pursuit events."

I hope that means actual new roads, and not just a re-dressing of the existing routes...

Is it possible to unbalance a game that has rampant rubber-banding?! I've finished all the Racer missions and found that driving skill (or rather, not hitting stuff) is far, far more important than car choice. Each car is slightly different (eg a little bit more drifty, little bit better at ramming etc) but they're all balanced in such a way that you won't win/lose depending on what you pick.

The stats are a total lie anyway, eg the TT RS's top speed is claimed as 249kph but I remember hitting like 280 before needing nitrous, it has an artificially high top speed to allow it to compete with the other cars in the class.

Isn't there already a Bugatti Veyron and Porsche 911? I don't really understand what the differences between these models are

Theres like 3 911s in HP.

GT2 RS apparently is Porsche's most poweful roadcar, the main difference is it has 90HP over the standard GT2 and is 70KG lighter

Even tho there is a Veyron in the game. the SS besides the colour scheme. the power output has risen to 1200 from 1000 and i believe the torque is much higher @ 1500NMs

not sure how the game will reflect all this tho.
