Xbox Live Update - 24/08/2010

360 News | The bargains are back.
The Winter season may have finished for Microsoft, but that doesn't bring an end to the new releases. Major Nelson is bringing us two brand new games along with a bunch of reduced DLC to take advantage of. Unsurprisingly, the announcement of BioShock: Infinite ties in with the specials on offer. Maybe you should consider visiting Rapture for one last time before taking to the skies.

Deals of the Week:

BioShock 2 came fully equipped with an extensive multiplayer experience; it wasn't what everyone wanted but it happened, and now you're getting the chance to expand that experience for a fraction of the price.

  • Rapture Metro - 400 MSP (AU$6.50), a saving of 50%
  • Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack - 240 MSP (AU$4), a saving of 40%
  • Rosie Big Daddy Outfit - 240 MSP (AU$4), a saving of 25%
  • Watchface Big Daddy Doll - 160 MSP (AU$2.60), a saving of 33%

The multiplayer isn't terrible. Seriously.

New Releases:

This week welcomes the return of Arcade games that don't have a price consisting of four digits! Well, at least one of them doesn't; Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game will be available for 800 MSP (AU$13). Staying true to the comics, Scott Pilgrim blends classic eight-bit gameplay with the hard rocking characters that make his adventure so enjoyable. The adorable Ramona Flowers is your goal, and you'll be able to take three friends along to help defeat her seven evil exes. The game features artwork from Paul Robertson and music from Anamanaguchi.

Next up is Shank, costing 1200 MSP (AU$20); this is quite different to Scott Pilgrim and apparently contains 'the most fluid and violent 2D animation ever seen in a video game'. Shank is a tale of revenge where you need to use extreme combat skills to defeat the underworld gang that killed your woman. Combining various weapons and fisticuffs makes Shank the most brutal game to hit the Xbox Live Arcade since The Dishwasher. Comic book fans should be pleased when this new content hits the Marketplace tomorrow night.

BAH! They still haven't clicked over online...

Awesome. After Lara Croft turned out to be average without online co-op, Shank should help to heal the void.

haha funny you say that since shank isn't co-op online nor is scott. I Couldn't care less myself I'd rather play couch co-op anyday

Hmm. Feels like a pretty big omission, if you ask me. Both games look awesome, but without online multi, I’m just not sure I’m willing to bite until they hit DotW. Then again, I impulse purchase, so who knows.

Any idea as to when exactly Scott Pilgrim and Shank will hit the Aussie Marketplace?

Round about now...usually.

Shank is there, but Pilgrim isn't.

EDIT: Never mind, found it. For some reason it wasn't showing up correctly. Weird.
