Rock Band 3 setlist leaked

360 News | UPDATE: There's more!
2010 is set for another giant battle between two of the biggest music franchises in video gaming, Rock Band and Guitar Hero. As is the case with these rhythm-action games, setlists are designed to appeal to the widest possible audience. A recent post from RockBandAide has revealed some of the potential tracks in Rock Band 3, and it's varied to say the least. The setlist is missing 4 songs.

Quite a hilarious leak to watch, so innocent with a random website just interviewing Harmonix while the devs in the background scrolled through the setlist from C onwards without a care in the world icon_lol_old.gif

There's clearly quite a few songs missing. I spotted Bowie and Them Crooked Vultures in that video. I'm sure some hardcore fan will have a complete list shortly.

I'm confused.

Rammstein in the setlist makes me happy in my pants.

A lot of good artists in there. Many a good song too.

Glad they picked my favourite Chicago song icon_smile.gif

They're casually scrolling the full setlist in the background. That's the joke.

Yeah I got the joke, I just don't understand why he posted the same video twice.

Drunk nights with Yoshimi. Good times.

ROCK LOBSTER! YES!

I'm kind of disappointed; there are all of two songs I like, and they were both on previous GHs. In fact, a lot of these songs were on GHs; you'd think they wouldn't have to double up, what with so many songs to choose from.

Also, China Grove.

F**k. Yes.

Rainbow in the Dark - Dio

Damn bloody right icon_smile.gif

Great setlist, but no Pendulum for Rock Band 3 or the new Guitar Hero is a dissappointment.

Don't forget:

Talking Heads - Burning Down The House
Deftones - My Own Summer
New Order - Blue Monday

Coming to dlc. Starts off as a US preorder bonus but whether it's also launch dlc or a later date those songs are coming.

While on the subject of dlc, hopefully our local release isn't far behind the US/UK this time since HMX have said that post-RB3 dlc wont be compatible with RB1 or 2 (thanks to the addition of pro, keys and harmonies). Anything longer than shipping from UK and I'm importing it - can't wait!

It's been mentioned in the Rock Band 3 thread in the forum that its meant to have a simultaneous release date, and Australia is included in that.
Oh, and freakin sweat that imagine is on the list. Hope for some more Elton John aswell.

In a big country, game = sold.....although i am still pissed at someone over the rock band 2 thing, ya hear me someone!

Oddly EB Games and GAME both have preorders up on their site with the release date set at 21/10 - a few days before US and over a week before UK. I'd doubt that but it's encouraging to see them already closer to releasing RB3 than 2 ever was.

Didn't really go through the whole list but I am seeing a lot of duplicated titles to other "similar" game titles. I realise Rock Band is a whole new take on Guitar Hero.. an evolution if you will.. but there's only so many times I can stomach "Smoke on the Water" and other "classics".

I agree and disagree.

While yes, there are 'classics', there are also way to many new 'songs' out there today that have absolutely no musical talent. (No just in the pop world. Welcome to some indie and metal.)

i dunno, i only count 3 metal acts in that anyway

I don't mind the duplications - I swore off Guitar Hero as soon as Rock Band arrived and haven't gone back (as in purchase-wise, I've obviously played some of the new titles and been entirely underwhelmed but that's me) so I'm glad to have access to songs in full band format from earlier GH titles and also GHWT onward stuff I've missed out on for going with RB instead.

I agree that I'd probably prefer to see new ground broken and songs I've been waiting forever for to finally appear - thank you RB3 for Radar Love - but I would also hate to have to collect every music game on the market just to have access to certain songs, when if they come to RB I can play them off a single disc (with the obvious exception of The Beatles).

And on the classics - even if I'm tired of them you know 'Smoke on the Water' is gonna get played at a party and probably induce a rather good time. You've gotta keep the accessable stuff for new players. I don't mind some unusual variety outside of my taste for the sake of party play with friends - with over 2000 songs available by the end of the year it's not like I'm gonna be forced to play them over and over if I don't want to. (unless of course I play online where I've heard that is a problem, though I understand that RB3 will allow players to make certain songs they don't wish to come up in random play inactive).
