NBA Elite 11 officially announced

360 News | EA set to retire the NBA Live brand.
After announcing the news that the NBA Live franchise was going to be kicked to the curb, Electronic Arts has now released the first details for NBA Elite 11, the re-branded basketball title which EA pledges will "re-invent the basketball simulation video game experience" with "an all-new technology base, a new control scheme and a real-time physics system."

Due to be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, NBA Elite 11 is said to drastically change the way we play video game basketball with the implementation of the 'Hands-On Control' scheme, which will see virtual ballers using the right analog stick to perform movements such as dribbling, dunking, blocking and stealing with "one-to-one responsiveness." The shooting system has been tweaked as well, with "a new skill-based shooting system [that] requires accurate user input" replacing "the randomly generated dice rolls that have driven shooting in basketball video games in the past."

NBA Elite 11 will be lacing up its sneakers and running into stores this October.

i really hope this reinvigorates the brand. as much as i love basketball i've yet to experience a great basketball sim on current gen consoles. the scars from playing NBA live 06 on the 360 are still healing.
