Xbox Live Update - 31/05/2010

360 News | Bring some popcorn.
It looks as though Major Nelson decided to wake up early and spill the beans on this week's Xbox Live content. Prepare for some movie madness.

Deal of the Week:

Jake Gyllenhaal's portrayal of the much loved Prince of Persia is currently doing the rounds at cinemas across the country. Unsurprisingly, Microsoft has placed Prince of Persia Classic as our deal of the week to coincide with the Bruckheimer blockbuster. The game will now cost you 400 Microsoft points (AU$6.50), a saving of 50%. This little gem will only take up 50MB and assuming Major Nelson has his dates in order, then the price should be effective from tonight.

Simply put, Prince of Persia Classic is a remake of the 1989... well, classic. You won't find any vast open-world landscapes or beautiful cel-shaded graphics; this is basic two dimensional platforming. Don't expect a reincarnation of the same quality as Monkey Island, but what you will find is a shiny replica of a twenty-one year old game. If you like jumping, wall-running or swords; then you could do far worse than Prince of Persia Classic.

If that doesn't take your fancy, then maybe Optimus Prime can help. The Transformers 2 'Character and Map Pack Plus' will also be reduced to 400 MSP (AU$6.50), another saving of 50%.

Still not impressed? Watchmen: The End is Nigh is the final part of the Major's so-called 'Movie Mania'. This Xbox 360 exclusive download will now cost 800 MSP (AU$13), another saving of 50%.

Please remember that all Deal of the Week specials are exclusive to Xbox Live Gold subscription holders.

New Releases:

We only have one new game to talk about this week; Snoopy Flying Ace. Half racer/half shooter, Snoopy's Xbox Live adventure features solo and co-operative missions along with sixteen player online modes. Experience the cutest dog in the world in glorious high definition for 800 MSP (AU$13).

There's one final addition to the Marketplace that's likely to sell above and beyond everything else before it; Modern Warfare 2's Resurgence map pack. You'll need to have 1200 MSP (AU$20) at the ready when Infinity Ward's behemoth breathes new life on June 3.
