First Alan Wake add-on bundled with every new purchase

360 News | Get your extra spooky shenanigans for free.
A press release from Microsoft has revealed that the first downloadable add-on for Remedy's long-anticipated title Alan Wake will be made available for free to those that purchase a new copy of the game.

"Included with every new purchase of the standard or limited collector's editions of Alan Wake, fans will score a token code card to download the title's first Game Add-on at no cost only on Xbox LIVE when it becomes available later this year," comments Microsoft.

Alan Wake and his trusty flashlight are due to hit the Xbox 360 on 20 May.

The weekend confirmed podcast guys were very complimentary. Day one for this game for me.

Since I am anticipated for this game (as well as pre-ordering the limited edition), this is a sweet bonus.

I thought the game comes out on May 20th...

Well, as long as the 'addon' isn't already finished and they are holding it back on purpose, then this is a good move!

What would it matter either way? It's free.

For myself, it wouldn't. For others who may not have a net connection, then yeah, it would for them.

I just don't like how DLC has been marketted in general. Like how with SF4, the costumes are already on the disc and all you buy is the unlock key. It's like buying a car then having to pay extra to unlock the 5th gear.

I just pray to the gods Wake's story is GOOD and doesn't turn into a pile of crazy poo.

PRAY cause it looks good on the surface.

Hopefully it veers more towards Silent Hill 2 than the recent Alone In the Dark. I'm diving into this with the Limited Edition. I did that last time for Alone In The Dark and while the game was ok it had a lot of faults.
