hmm has this passed classification yet? if not an 18+ rating can't come soon enough.

definetely going to keep this one on my radar.

Graphically speaking those pics aren't impressive, but who knows, the originals were fun.

20 years ago stuff like this didn't raise any eyebrows, now days though.. hold your hats! icon_wink.gif

I was expecting trash, and I wasn't disappointed. Looks pants.
This looks so generic and boring.

maybe its just me but i thought this game was looking pretty nice? where'd the generic and boring come from? sure the graphics don't seem super polished but it seems like good old fashioned hack n slash fun to me.

maybe im just more easily impressed these days on account of not gaming as much as I used to or something.

the images i saw on IGN ages ago looked cool , the problem is the environments look bland that and the modals dont look to good .

Meh the game can look like an early PS2 game for all I care.If the game is fun which I think it will be then I don't give a damn about the graphics.

Yeah, everyone loves busting out that particular gem. The thing is, if the visual are so sloppy and uninspired, then why would I believe that the gameplay design has had any more care or attention?

Time will tell, for now I'm chalking this one down as a 6-7 (being generous) with a short shelf life before hitting the bargain bins.

Yes, that is a rather premature prediction, but I've seen enough similar releases to fell comfortable in it.

Cause some games are fun without amazing gameplay or graphics. Earth Defence Force was tons of fun, yet it looked like crap and wasn't really anything special, yet me and my friends spent hours thinking up new ideas/plans, trying to finish all difficulties, find all weapons etc. Some games are just plain fun.

And they're the exceptions to the rule - there are a good number of games like that out there, but they're diamonds in the rough. Besides, I'd argue the EDF2017 has great gameplay, purely because it is so simplistic that it works.

The Wikipedia game on the game states that it is rated MA15+, but it appears to be an error; it is not listed in the OFLC database.

I loved playing Splatterhouse on the TurboGFX16. It really made me jump at times and it filled me with suspense. Yes, the graphics might not be stunning, but the overall color matches the dark nature of the game perfectly. I also like how the demons still have a very simple as they did in the original. My only complaint so far is that Rick's new design reminds me so much of John Cena. I do miss the Jason Vorhees-inspired design.
