Vanquish coming to PS3 and Xbox 360

360 News | New shooter from the brains behind Resident Evil and Bayonetta.
Vanquish, a mysterious new project from Platinum Games and SEGA, was teased with a stunning trailer back in January. In its latest issue, Japanese gaming bible Famitsu reports that Vanquish is in fact a shooter set for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (via IGN).

Vanquish is the latest brainchild of legendary Resident Evil director Shinji Mikami. Famitsu reveals that the title will be a shooter set in a future where robots are the weapon of choice. As a battle rages between America and Russia, players take control of a character encased in an armoured suit with a transforming gin. The magazine states that Vanquish will "emphasize speed and fast paced action", especially during boss fights. A Matrix-style bullet time system is also said to feature.

With the bulk of the game already finished, Vanquish is expected to be lining shelves in Japan by Q3 2010. Keep your browser tuned to PALGN for more on Vanquish as it comes.
