More Mass Effect 2 DLC on the way next month

360 News | Hovering its way into your game in late March.
Those that missed hooning around in a vehicle (bless your lame steering Mako, BioWare) in Mass Effect 2 will soon have the opportunity with BioWare today announcing that the Firewalker Pack will be heading to the Cerberus Network in late March, including all-new vehicular play.

The Firewalker Pack will include the Hammerhead, a vehicle which BioWare has dubbed as being "a heavy assault vehicle that hovers over the battlefield at up to 120 kilometers per hour and features a guided missile system ensuring accuracy even during aggressive maneuvering" and will give gamers the opportunity for some vehicular shenanigans through five new missions that will feature the Hammerhead.

This latest slice of DLC will be absolutely free to those Mass Effect 2 gamers that are already members of the Cerberus Network. You can check out the Hammerhead in action in our media panel below.

I am glad that the Cerberus Network is really going to pay off.

Yeah, but what if this is the last free one...

Then they've already delivered substantial free content and its okay to charge for some other stuff, which they were planning to do anyway.

fine for anyone who bought it new. Anyone paying for the network would wnat a few extra things i would imagine. Still I like this idea and glad it is happening. It will also be happening for bad company 2. EA want more money it seems lol

I think it's a great idea. Free DLC is always awesome. Happy that BC2 is doing it too.

Why? Anyone paying for the network either saved a lot of money by buying the game second hand, or pirated the game - in which case they're not really entitled to anything.

This is welcomed. But still, I think I'm all Mass Effect'ed out. Thats my problem with DLC, usually by the time it comes out I'm done and dusted with the title.

What Cerebral said. If you bought it second hand you saved money, and none of the money you spent purchasing it actually went back to the developer. The developer made nothing off you and you got a better deal, so you're really not entitled to anything at all.

You buy the Cerberus Network card as its the developer's way of saying "Okay, you've given us some money back now, we'll give you some free content". So far they've delivered on just that.

We've also got Kasumi coming (apparently), though I wouldnt be surprised if she was paid DLC. Not everything will be free, and I think we've gotten a pretty crazy amount of free stuff already. Especially from a company that doesn't handle DLC very well and is owned by EA.

Kasumi's data is already in the game, you can find videos of her in the final mission on Youtube from someone who modified his save game file. The DLC that makes her available would just be one of those 108kb keys, which I think people would object to paying for. I'd guess that Kasumi would be the last bit of free DLC.

Her voice work, scrapes of coding, and placeholder model are in the game. Which makes sense as she was probably planned for some time. Her loyalty quest, room on the Normandy, and proper model do not exist in the game, so it will be a bit more than an unlock key.

If all that was needed was an unlock key, why not release her with Zaeed (whose pack was ~400MB in size)? Clearly she was still a work in progress.
