First Assassin's Creed II DLC due next week

360 News | More adventure for Ezio on 28 January.
Ubisoft has revealed that the first downloadable add-on for Assassin's Creed II titled 'The Battle of Forli' is set to hit the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles on 28 January.

Priced at 320 Microsoft Points (approximately AUD $6 for PlayStation 3 gamers), The Battle of Forli add-on will bring the titular battle of the Italian city into the popular action-adventure title. The second announced add-on, 'Bonfire of the Vanities' is due in late February, though no further information has been released on this additional content at the moment.

For those PC gamers still waiting to get their stab on, Ubisoft has also affirmed that the PC version of Assassin's Creed 2 will be out by the end of Q1 2010.

I wonder if this DLC will patch in the ability to replay missions...

They are also making a standalone multiplayer game later this year, I have always wanted multiplayer Assassin's Creed.

I believe you can already replay missions by using the DNA menu.

Regarding the DLC I'm looking forward to it. Though am still a little apprehensive about it being so cheap.

I hope you can access this DLC at any time. After losing all my saved games, I really don't want to play through ACII again just to be able get to the DLC, especially as it's released the same day as Mass Effect 2.

Unfortunately you only replay some of the side missions, not the main chapters. It's particularly annoying if you'd like to take in the sights of the final area once more (you can't go back there in the free roam mode at the end), but there's no way to replay the final chapter to do so... so you'd have to play the entire game again. There's also a tiny island piece of Venice in the south that is completely blocked off, except it's revealed once briefly when you need to assassinate someone on a nearby boat for a mission - you can walk on tiny a bit of the island at that point. It's annoying that it's completely locked off before and after that mission. My wife stayed there briefly about 10 years ago and it would have been fun to have walked down those streets in the game.

I'm not usually into DLC, but I am looking forward to this one and finding out what's behind that locked-off area of Forli.

*Sets aside approximately $6*

I've never actually bought DLC before, but I'll be wrapping my digital paws around this the moment it becomes available.

Please please PLEASE don't have anymore achievements for the DLC. I got 1000/1000 and have no desire to return to the game at all.

They will, it helps drive sales.

They may bring out an edition with the DLC included like they did with GRAW2

Less than 24 hours before the DLC's release and still no mention of any new Achievements on either 360achievements.org or when viewing a Friend's profile on XBL.

So i think you're safe, they usually announce/release new Achievements well in advance of the DLC's release.

Definite purchase from me, I'd love to head back into Ezio's shoes.

From some random PS3 site

Quote
Ubisoft confirmed today that this week's piece of DLC for Assassin's Creed II won't have trophies.

Ubisoft UK Community Manager Korina Abbott told ps3trophies.org that "Battle of Forli" won't contain any trophies. No trophies would probably also mean no achievements for the DLC on Xbox 360. "Battle of Forli," is set to release with this week's Playstation Network and Xbox Live updates.

Abbott didn't say anything about February's "Bonfire of the Vanities" DLC. Most for-pay DLC that adds significant gameplay content like this usually adds trophies and achievements.

If this came out way earlier I would be interested but I have no interest at all in these missions.
