Xbox Live Deal of the Week - 02/11/09

360 News | More Modern Warfare shenanigans for the masses.
It's Monday (or early Tuesday morning for Australians) again, which means a new Deal of the Week has started on the Xbox Live Marketplace. This week, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’s Variety Map Pack has been reduced to 400 Microsoft Points (approximately AUD $6.60), a saving of 50%.

Coming in at 444 MB, the Variety Map Pack adds four brand new multiplayer maps to Modern Warfare. These include "Creek", a wide-open village that is the centre of epic battles, "Broadcast" which is set in an enemy communications building with narrow corridors and wide-open parking lots, "Chinatown" which is a small downtown area lit only by the moon and neon glow of the city, and "Killhouse" which is a training warehouse filled with mock-ups.

Please remember that all Deal of the Week specials are exclusive to Xbox Live Gold subscription holders.

I knew this would be the COD4 map pack. I found it funny that it costs 400 MSP, is 444 megs big, and adds 4 new maps. But who doesn't have this/would even want it now, seems like they are trying to earn a few extra bucks before MW2 comes out.

And most of the folks which would have bought the game between the release of the maps and now would have bought the GOTY edition which included them anyway!

I figure if you've waited this long to get the Call of Duty 4 map pack then you're probably not going to buy Modern Warfare 2 on day one.
