For those who haven't played the PSP version, Strikeforce features the series' trademark hack and slash gameplay and has players embark on a quest to unite the Three Kingdoms era of China. New to Strikeforce is aerial combat, as well as "Fury" transformations that give characters supernatural powers. There's also a lock-on system and an improved weapons system.
One of the key elements which was unquie to the PSP version was for the first time players could play cooperatively with up to three friends (previous incarnations only allowed two-player co-op). Following the spin-off Dynasty Warriors: Gundam series, the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Strikeforce will have online co-op and competitive multiplayer modes. Koei has also stated there will be new officer cards, Meng Huo will be a new playable character, and there will be free downloadable quests via the PSN and Xbox Live Marketplace.
Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce is scheduled to be released in Western territories on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010. You can check out a new trailer and screenshots below.
