Batman gets DLC next week

360 News | It's free too, apparently.
Batman: Arkham Asylum has barely been available for a week in Australia, but that hasn't stopped developer Rocksteady Studios from announcing the first batch of downloadable content will be available on 17 September.

This is all according to the in-game news tracker, which reads "New free downloadable content in 9 days" in both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. However, what exactly this new DLC is remains to be seen - though we are speculating that it will be something relatively minor like a Challenge Room.

We reviewed Batman: Arkham Asylum over the weekend, and we are pretty damn fond of it. Click here to find out more.

UPDATE: According to PlayStation Life, the new DLC will be called 'Insane Night', with another, titled 'Prey in the Darkness', arriving later.

To be honest I'm susspecting more challenge maps. Though it'd be interesting to see if Rocksteady learned anything from Criterion and decided to add diffrent things. Maybe the option to do more then challenge maps with different characters/skins?
here's to waiting for new content! *cheers*

DLC is coming to PC version also

I'm once again happy that I've picked the best version, even if it means waiting a bit longer for the release, was worried that the DLC may have been console exclusive.

Going crazy with anticipation waiting for it to come out, really enjoyed the Demo, and seeing the reviews and the chit chat on here is making the wait harder.

I thought it'd end up being the 'exclusive' pre-order maps, but I'm glad to see there'll be some new stuff, too. I'd be happy with more Challenge maps, those cool customers are bloody addictive, but some different character skins would be neat, too.

And the Commish as a playable character would be awesome. He's a freakin' beast in this game icon_lol.gif

I called this months ago, though I'm not sure what to make of this news. It makes me wonder why I bothered pre-ordering and getting the CE for the 2 'exclusive' challenge maps.

But at the end of the day, it's good news for gamers that missed out on them, and I appreciate that they're making them free (they could've easily charged like $5 and got away with it). But they could've at least waited a bit longer to avoid bitter feelings from those that payed the extra cash to get the levels.

and to drop it so quickly means we again need to ask why they didnt include it on the disc already - unless its a test of the waters for dlc demand before charging for extras to come...........

I would imagine that is the case. I'm not complaining or caring about whether it was on the disc or not as it is free DLC. If they were charging for it like with Resident Evil 5, then that's a different story.
