Battlefield 1943 breaks records

360 News | 1943 smashes digital title sales figures.
Earlier in the week DICE announced some sales figures for that its downloadable multiplayer shooter Battlefield 1943, a title which sold over 600,000 copies since its launch earlier in the month.

1943 has seen itself become the fastest-selling Xbox Live game on its opening day, as well as shattering the record for first-week sales as well. The title also showed a similar trend on the PlayStation 3, setting similar records for the PlayStation Network as it did for Xbox Live.

The game's brisk sales figures meant that the community's unlocking of the Coral Sea map - which required a target of forty-three million total recorded kills for each platform - came ludicrously fast with Xbox 360 players accomplishing the feat in five days, while the PlayStation 3 community hitting the mark eight days into the challenge.

"We are honored by the reception that the game has received so far," said EA producer Gordon Van Dyke. "Watching and participating in this non-stop multiplayer action has been a real treat for us and we can't believe how fast our fans reached 43 million kills."

I'm really glad about this, because it pretty much certifies that we're going to have some DLC to play with in the near future. I'm hoping maybe they expand a class, improve team communication, friend matchups/team games and add another three maps.

I'd very, very gladly pay the full amount over again for that.

lol I should have brought this if I has a PS3/360, I could have easily given people something to easily aim at over and over (I suck at shooters icon_razz.gif)

Apparently Aussie 360 servers are still either too few or non-existent, making this a no-buy for me.

EA. Pah.

I would love them to release all the maps now as night time maps, that would be so awesome. Especially if it was fairly dark and there were spotlights etc.
Ah video games, the only time you can celebrate kills.

Hmm, I've been playing for the last couple of days at all times of the day and I haven't had one laggy match...

Same.. I've only had one or two times when it's popped up in a match, lasting a minute max.

^^ Yeah, very rarely do I find a non-laggy game, especially with a connection that blocks nobody from my games (except Cro icon_sad.gif ). Although, Lag's only really noticable when you're addicted to the Rifleman class, like yours truly.
