South Park tower defence game for XBLA

360 News | Yes, we did say tower defence.
Back in June at E3, Microsoft took the time to announce the existence of a brand new South Park adventure for the Xbox Live Arcade - but they didn't mention anything else about it. Earlier today, the company revealed that it will be an, erm, tower defence game, irritatingly-titled South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!

The first footage of the game (available at GameTrailers) shows that players will get to control all four of the main characters from the show - Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny, with others available later on in the game. The game's art style also appears to capture the show perfectly, which can only be a good thing.

South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! is scheduled for a release on October 7, coinciding with new episodes of the series broadcasting in the United States.

It's not the first South Park game the world has ever seen, with previous efforts including a first-person shooter, racer and trivia game. If you've never played them, it's probably a good thing.

I remember when this game was announced at E3 2008.........let's just say a Tower Defence type game is not what I was expecting.

Since when has South Park ever run with expectations?

Anyhow, 4-player (presumably) coop with South Park characters = win. Don't know how this hasn't been done before. Sure, it sounds unambitious, but it also appears that it will be incredibly fun.

Nice way for Microsoft to fill a niche on XBL.

I'm pretty sure it has been done before, I forgot the name of the game but I do remember playing South Park game with my sister on the Playstation (or was it Playstation 2, I'm not too sure, it was many years ago) and I think it was a 4 player co-op.

Edit - Found it on Wiki, South Park: Chef's Luv Shack
