Is it just me or do most cars in those screenshots not look very real?

It's probably because they're shinier than Bronze's head. icon_razz.gif

They never show awesome cars in clips, like my awesome Peugeot in Forza 2 that can kick the arse of most ferrari's and lambo's (them being stock, mine not). Which is what makes racing in Forza fun, you can have hatchbacks up against ferrari's which are also taking on freaking 1960's muscle cars and crap.

Gez, look at all that detail on the Ferrari, not just the cockpit but the engine bay too... and it hasn't taken them half a decade of development to do it, either... icon_lol_old.gif

There is a certain "sterile" look to the cars that Sambo may be picking up on. They remind me of the cars in Test Drive Unlimited, there's a plasticy sheen to them.

The environments also appear to lack detail, though the motion blur seems to be doing a good job of covering that up.

I will be enamoured the day a racing game properly shows weather effects ON the cars, dirt build up, spottiness after rain, etc. It will just boost the realism 100 fold. But we are WAY WAY WAY away from that level of accuracy.

^ Forza 2 does that alright with the build up of brake dust beside the wheel arches as a race goes on.

I don't agree with some of the comments here, personally I feel the cars look great; both in general feel and attention to detail. Some of the earlier screengrabs and videos also illustrated some stunning vistas and environments. Hopefully the fears some people are experiencing will be resolved as Turn 10 and MS reveal more details as the release date grows closer.

I'm really hoping for good damage in this one too, I actually spent 20 minutes on a Forza 2 practice lap seeing what point I could destroy the car to, unfortunately, you can't blow out your tires (I literally sat there doing burnouts for about 15 minutes to get my tire damage to 100% no blowouts), though the steering and engine damage is pretty sweet. Steering especially.

I mean let's face it, Forza 2, in terms of the racing part, is pretty damn flawless, they just need to add in all the extra bells and whistles that will make it the pinnacle of racing (like AI that actually tries not to hit you, I understand, you want to drive on the racing line, but if I'm already on the line, don't ******** try and drive into the side of my car giving ME a penalty, ********).

Might play a bit of it tonight and polish off a couple more cups.

Oh, and I can't wait for the videos to start creeping in for Forza 3, as that's where it'll be at its best, in motion.
