E3 2009: Perfect Dark sets XBLA in its sights

360 News | Perfect, indeed.
Reporting from the Microsoft booth at E3 2009, Major Nelson has sent a tweet with a tantalising update - the original Perfect Dark is coming to XBLA.

The Twitter update was only four sentences long, but Major Nelson has revealed that it will run in 1080p and will be released in North America's winter. A free theme is also on the way tomorrow. No further details are given, but as the game was one of the highlights of the Nintendo 64 catalogue, we're sure that there will be no shortage of fans eagerly anticipating the release.

If this can run at a steady 60fps (or 30), then it will be well worth it.

Pfft Goldeneye.

Perfect dark was it's spiritual successor, all it lacked was the 007 license, and it improved upon the previous game in every way. Storywise, graphically, and of course the amount of gameplay and content included.

Love the music in Perfect Dark too, I cannot wait for this.

I actually never understood what was so damn good about Goldeneye but LOVED PD.

This is awesome. fistpump.jpg

Runs in hi-res, should run in 60fps (they got the GE demo running at that rate, improved controls, most likely online multiplayer, chances are PD0 will end up bested by a beefed up port of its 6 year old predecessor.

If they redo the graphics like the rumoured Goldeneye XBLA shots that were leaked, this will be awesome!

If not, then meh.

I loved PDZ and played multiplayer with bots so much, the bots were awesome. But a lot of people seemed disappointed with it, but I thought it was an awesome game. Considering buying it again actually.

Nothing beats sitting in the toilets in Facility with a Farsight and nailing people on the other side of the map. Only problem is that when the OTHER people get a Farsight they know exactly where u are.

That was half the fun (or all?) of the Farsights; sitting there desperately trying to find your opponent through the scope before they found you! Especially when you were sitting next to them and knew they were scoping you out. Ah good times.
