E3 2009: Fallout 3 DLC gets trailer, date

360 News | Take a look at Point Lookout.
Developer Bethesda Softworks has released a trailer detailing the next chapter of downloadable content to be released for their apocalyptic opus Fallout 3, this one entitled Point Lookout. The trailer also provides the release date for the content as June 23, and though the Playstation 3 version is set to receive all of the Fallout 3 downloadable content eventually, this date applies only to the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game. It will be priced at 800 Microsoft points.

Point Lookout is based on the real life location of Point Lookout State Park in Maryland, USA, and has particular historical significance as the site of a prisoner of war camp during the American Civil War.

In the context of Fallout 3, Bethesda has described it as a location where 'the bombs didn't actually fall, but the world has left it behind.' From the trailer (which you can view below) it appears to be a quite different environment to the Capital Wasteland, consisting of murky swamplands and plenty of angry locals.

Point Lookout is the first of two bouts of DLC to be released in the coming months, the second being Mothership Zeta, which is yet to be dated but is set to appear in late July.

Four additional achievements will be added to Fallout 3 for Point Lookout, bringing the game's total Gamerscore to 1450 points.

I've already played the game. It's awesome, but I'm waiting for the GOTY edition in October to play it again.

Awesome! Looks like Deliverance.... Hopefully there's no squeal like a pig mini-game. I'm a huge fan of anything Fallout so I'll be getting this the second it's available. Hopefully this DLC doesn't have the problems previous DLC has had tho...
