E3 2009: Warriors: Legends of Troy announced

360 News | The Trojans and Greeks do battle once more.
Koei has announced today that it is developing a completely original game called Warriors: Legends of Troy for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The game is set in ancient times where Zeus Almighty ruled over immortals and men, and when the Trojans and Greeks waged war against each other. Players will be able to choose sides and see the war from two different perspectives, all the while clashing against thousands of soldiers in gameplay which is reminiscent of the publisher's Dynasty Warriors series. The combat system will apparently allow players to grapple and throw enemies, charge with shields, use evasive manoeuvres and attack using a variety of short-ranged and long-ranged weaponry. There will also be online co-op and competitive multiplayer modes for up to four players, as well as the integration of mythical creatures on the battlefields.

Warriors: Legends of Troy is in development at Koei's Canadian games studio, and should be released in 2010. You can check out a trailer below.
